Introduction

The first Japanese winner of Tchaikovsky and Chopin competitions, now a jury member of Tchaikovsky and Long-Thibaut competitions and other international competitions, Ms. Koyama is now arguably the most favored pianist in Japan. In 2006, a 12-year long “The World of Koyama” recital series started in Tokyo.

This season, Shanghai Symphony is inviting some of the most shiny stars of the classical music world to join us in concerts, including legendary cellist Mischa Maisky, pianist Michie Koyama, distinguished vocalists, Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballé and Swiss tenor Licitra, cellist/conductor David Geringas and conductor Matthias Bamert.
